To register for any of the following American Red Cross Certification courses offered by Hale Reservation, simply download an application form and mail to Hale Reservation, 80 Carby Street, Westwood, MA 02090, along with a check for the full amount made out to Hale Reservation.

2008 SMALL CRAFT SAFETY COURSE

Friday, June 13th, 9 AM – 4 PM
Individuals who are already skilled in one or more types of small craft (canoes, kayaks, and/or rowboats) will gain information and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and respond to small craft emergencies. This course prepares individuals by teaching them how to protect themselves while assisting others. Ideal for camp staff and youth group leaders.

Prerequisites: Tread water for one minute; swim 25 yards without a lifejacket; swim 25 yards with a lifejacket; strong boating skills in Canoeing, Row boating, and/or Kayaking. Cost: $75

2008 WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI)

Monday, June 9th – Friday, June 13th, 9AM – 4PM
For individuals who want to be trained to teach swimming lessons. Minimum age 16. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in all strokes and basic lifeguarding skills. Pre-registration required. Cost: $300

2008 WATERFRONT LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION

Monday, June 16th, 8:30AM - 3:30PM
Tuesday, June 17th, 8:30AM - 3:30PM
Wednesday, June 18th, 8:30AM - 3:30PM
Thursday, June 19th, 8:30AM - 3:30PM
Friday, June 20th, 8:30AM - 3:30PM

The course runs for five days. Minimum age: 15. Participants must pass a prerequisite swim test to participate in the course. Cost: $285

3:30PM - 7 PM

For current lifeguards who need to get recertified. Valid for 3 years.
